I wanted to work with children who have special needs. I always had an interest in special education. By nature I’m organized, and I liked the organization, structure. Also, ABA is very data-based, and you are able to see progress very easily, which makes this field very rewarding. Working with children is challenging, as it takes children a long time to learn a skill, but with ABA, we can see progress.
Improving children’s behavior and academic performance.
I have been intimately involved with children who have special needs, such as Autism and Asperger’s, since the start of my career. I have experience working in school settings, home settings and one-on-one.
I have experience using proven ABA methodologies to teach children necessary classroom skills, social skills and activities of daily living (ADL). My experience also includes working with children with behavior and social deficits within mainstream classroom settings, as well as serving as a Master Teacher for a classroom of children with Autism in New York.
I love working at Building Blocks Therapy because there is a real team environment and sense of collaboration. We’re constantly consulting with each other on the most effective and new treatment methods so we can best serve the children under our care. Our goal is to help each child reach their full potential and every staff member is fully committed to this goal and will do whatever it takes to help not only their own clients, but each other’s as well.
