My daughter was diagnosed with autism in 2012. She had begun to receive behavior therapy shortly after diagnosis and she made really good progress. My family made a decision to switch behavior therapy companies six months after diagnosis and the new company utilized VB-MAPP (verbal behavior milestones assessment and placement program). My daughter’s growth in every area exploded. I observed her new behavior team daily. I drove my daughter to social skills classes and did everything the behavior team suggested. I was fascinated with what I would describe back then as the “magic” they were performing with my daughter. Deep down, I knew I wanted to be part of this “magic” in helping children function that could ultimately provide them a better life.
I receive much enjoyment in working with young children diagnosed with autism. I also love the play-based approach Building Block Therapy uses.
I have spent three years living with someone diagnosed with autism and have learned a great deal from my daughter’s behavior therapy team.
I am passionate about helping people and making a difference. I get great joy out of being able to use a lifetime of experiences combined with my education in behavior analysis in helping a variety of children.
The team at Building Blocks Therapy is both caring and fun! There is a positive energy and dedication that I see from everyone. I see how much therapists are willing to help one another.
Honestly, I feel very blessed to part of the team here. Working at Building Blocks Therapy has been the most wonderful experience for me in my professional life. I look forward to learning and growing with this company.
