Why did you choose to pursue a career in ABA?
I discovered ABA when I was working at a charter school for children with Autism.
I loved working with the children and I saw how much ABA helped them in so many different skill areas. I fell in love with the field and decided to go back to school for masters and get my BCBA.
Do you have any special areas of interest?
Communication and behavior.
Communication is so important for a child to be successful and I love working with children and their families to build communication or find an alternate mode of communication that works best for them.
I’m also very interested in behavior. I love to break down a behavior to determine the function and develop an intervention to either increase or decrease it.
What varied experience do you have in your field?
I have experience working with children from the ages of 2 to 13. I’ve worked with children at all different skill levels and with a variety of different needs. I’ve worked in schools, homes, and at our clinic.
What degrees, licenses, certifications and/or special training do you hold?
What are you passionate about?
I’m passionate about serving my clients and their families the best I can. I enjoy learning as much as I can about the field of ABA.
What do you enjoy most about working at Building Blocks Therapy?
I’m lucky to work with amazing clients, families, therapists and fellow BCBAs. I enjoy my time working with everyone involved on a team to provide the best services possible.
