Building Blocks Therapy

ABA Therapy with a
Compassionate Approach

We're a group of professionally trained board-certified behavior analysts (BCBAs) and registered behavior technicians (RBTs) that value client choice, trust, and dignity. We're dedicated to providing compassionate care by staying up to date with the most recent research and trainings and by engaging in the ongoing discussions happening within the autistic and ABA communities. We also offer in-house consultation with a speech therapist for AAC devices, ensuring your child has access to comprehensive communication support.

Our NDBI Approach

The NDBI (Naturalistic Developmental Behavioral Intervention) approach combines principles from Applied Behavior Analysis and developmental psychology. It offers a more natural, child-led, play-based way to teach skills to young children with autism.

Rather than traditional structured drills, we embed learning within daily routines and social interactions. This leads to better generalization and engagement. We use ABA's measurement methods but set goals based on developmental science, focusing on play, communication, and social skills in real-life settings.

Our play-based approach means your child learns through natural interactions, not structured drills. We also collaborate closely with other professionals including speech therapists to support your child's full development.

What Sets Us Apart

We provide compassionate, neurodiversity-affirming ABA therapy. It is at the core of what we do.

Our team is extensively trained directly by Dr. Greg Hanley in Skill-Based Treatment (SBT), feeding, and the sleep approach. We're also trained in other NDBI approaches including the JASPER model, ESDM, and Preschool Life Skills.

This is why many doctors and community resources refer families to us. We stand apart from our peers by prioritizing dignity, client choice, and evidence-based practices that respect the autistic community.

We believe in cross collaboration. Our team works alongside speech therapists, occupational therapists, and your family to create a unified approach to your child's care. We also provide in-house AAC consultation to support communication needs.

Meet our team

Our board-certified ABA therapists are super focused and super caring. There's nothing they won't do for your child's success. We are a proud host of the MetroHealth and University Hospitals Residency Training program. The residents do a rotation at our centers in order to learn about ABA and Autism.

"My son attended Building Blocks ABA therapy for almost 2 years. The staff was professional attentive to all of my sons needs. He loved going to Building Blocks so much that he still bags to go back for visits. Building Blocks has an amazing indoor play space for the kids to get plenty of movement. All of Building Blocks staff were always welcoming to our family. I can not say enough great things about them and I always refer them to anyone who I could benefit from their services."

"My son attended Building Blocks ABA Therapy for two years, and I cannot say enough about how wonderful our experience was. From the very beginning, everyone was so welcoming, supportive, and compassionate not only toward my son, but toward me as a parent as well. The communication was always clear, the care was genuine, and the love they showed made all the difference.

During his time at Building Blocks, my son truly thrived. The progress he made was incredible, and I will forever be grateful for the dedication and patience of the entire team. This was truly the best place for him to be, and I always felt confident knowing he was in the hands of people who cared deeply.

I would highly recommend Building Blocks to any parent looking for ABA therapy. The staff, the environment, and the support system are unmatched it's more than just a program, it's a Family and they have made a lasting impact."

“My dog, Baker, has visited the children at Building Blocks while training as a therapy dog. While on-site, I met with their RBTs, BCBAs, occupational therapists and speech therapists. As a speech therapist myself, I am inspired by their upbeat, caring and compassionate staff. They have an amazing facility with an indoor playground, sensory swings, and individualized therapy rooms. They truly invest in their children. Highly recommend!”
