Why did you choose to pursue a career in ABA?
I chose to pursue a career in Physical Therapy following two injuries during high school football. The more significant injury was a separated shoulder near the end of the season. My biggest concern at that point was how was I supposed to play baseball in the spring when I can’t even throw a ball more than a few feet without excruciating pain. The rehab process was amazing to me to see my shoulder continue to get stronger during the offseason and back to being 100% by the time the baseball season started.
Do you have any special areas of interest?
Pediatrics as well as adult outpatient orthopedics.
What varied experience do you have in your field?
I previously held a pediatrics position as well as currently work PRN for an outpatient orthopedic clinic as well. I also have had a variety of clinical experiences. Most notably being two rotations in the Cleveland Municipal School District which really allowed me to develop skills to have a career in pediatric physical therapy.
What degrees, licenses, certifications and/or special training do you hold?
In addition to my Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy, I earned a bachelor’s degree in health sciences. I also earned my OT/PT in the schools certificate while in the doctorate program at Cleveland State University.
What are you passionate about?
Related to my profession: I am passionate about providing the best care that I can as well as making sure treatment sessions are client specific and are engaging for each client on an individual level. In my home life, I am passionate about my family and my dog. Other hobbies I have a strong interest in are golf, cars, video games, and Cleveland sports.
What do you enjoy most about working at Building Blocks Therapy?
I really enjoy the flexibility of everyone here. If you need anything, someone is always willing to come to your assistance. Everyone really feels like a part of a group that has one collective goal and that is to provide the best possible environment for the kids here at BBT. From all the therapists to everyone behind the scenes in the office, everyone interacts with each other and that creates a positive environment to be a part of.
