Why did you choose to pursue a career in Occupational Therapy?
Growing up with a younger brother with autism, I had a lot of exposure to the allied health professions. I fell in love with OT because of the varied activities that OT works on with clients.
Do you have any special areas of interest?
I am very interested in feeding therapy and hope to complete ongoing education in feeding therapy, especially pediatric/autism based to further help the clients with feeding difficulties
What varied experience do you have in your field?
I recently moved from Chicago where I held a rotating OT position at the Shirley Ryan Ability lab. There I worked in various setting including inpatient and outpatient pediatrics, outpatient adults, day rehab with adults and pediatrics, inpatient brain injury, and inpatient stroke

What are you passionate about?
I am passionate about working the pediatric field because I love utilizing a play-based approach in therapy and making therapy sessions fun so that clients do not realize they are engaged in “therapy.”
What do you enjoy most about working at Building Blocks Therapy?
My favorite aspect of working for BBT is that every day is different and every child is unique! I also love working in such a collaborative and supportive environment where everyone is willing to go above and beyond to help the client succeed!
