Why did you choose to pursue a career in ABA?
I was actually pursuing a degree in Communications in Sciences and Disorders for Speech-Language Pathology when I was first introduced to ABA therapy. The college that I attended was located in Southern Ohio where therapy services were slim. One of my professors sent out an email notifying us about a therapy center out of Columbus, Ohio that was recruiting college students to provide direct ABA therapy to a family in the area under their supervision. I took the job and quickly fell in love with ABA and chose to pursue my master’s degree to become a certified therapist. The positive impact ABA had on the first family I worked with is what made me pursue the career, the positive impacts I continue to see daily are what keep me devoted to it.
