Building Blocks Therapy, an ABA Therapy provider for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder in the greater Cleveland area is seeking professional, highly motivated, and passionate ABA Therapists! We service our clients in our three main center locations, one in Avon, one in Highland Heights, and one in Solon as well as home, community, and school-based ABA Therapy.

Responsibilities include:

-Working in a 1:1 or 1:2 ratio with children, ranging in age from 18 months – 18 years

-Implementing technical practices of applied behavior analysis including, but not limited to, discrete trial training, natural environment teaching, social skills development, and running behavior intervention plans

-General upkeep of client materials (making new client materials as well as organizing current materials)

-Ability to collaborate on a team with other therapists and supervisors, as well as school, Speech, OT, and PT providers

-Being open and receptive to feedback

Requirements:

-Must be able to handle behaviors such as aggression, tantrums, self-injurious behaviors, and potty training. This may include implementing crisis intervention practices at times (we will provide the appropriate training). This may include lifting and/or transporting children as need be

-Receptive to feedback

-Objective in thought process

-Excellent communication skills

Preferred Requirements:

-Associates or Bachelors Degree in related field

– Experience with ABA implementation

Building Blocks Therapy is a pediatric therapy center that provides ABA services to children on the autism spectrum in our centers, clients’ homes, and through school consultation. Building Blocks Therapy was first established in 2013 primarily as an in-home and community-based program and has since expanded to include 4 brick-and-mortar locations across Cuyahoga, Lorain, and Summit counties. Staff at Building Blocks Therapy are hired and trained to promote a collaborative, compassionate, and strength-based program to best serve our children and their families.

For this BCBA/BCaBA role, the ideal candidate MUST HAVE strong written and oral communication skills, a willingness to receive and apply feedback on an ongoing basis, good time-management skills, a balance between autonomy and collaboration, former experience working with Autism, a desire to stay current on new ABA research and a playful and empathetic demeanor and approach to working with children.

Duties of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Assessing children using various insurance-approved assessments to include / but not limited to / VB-MAPP, AFLS, PEAK, Social Assessments, Vineland, IISCA, and PFA
  • Writing, reviewing, and editing Treatment Plans and Behavior Plans in a timely matter, as necessary per insurance requirements
  • Familiarity with insurance reviews and phone calls
  • Maintaining a caseload of 8-15 clients in consultation with the Clinical Director or Assistant Clinical Director
  • Uses effective time management throughout the week based on client insurance authorizations and RBT oversight
  • Attend BCBA weekly / bi-weekly BCBA Meetings
  • Collaborate with other related service providers such as SLP, OT, PT, and schools on an ongoing or as-needed basis
  • Conduct parent training on a routine weekly or bi-weekly basis for all clients and families – to include center-based or in home as-needed
  • Daily supervision of clients and RBTs
  • Completing weekly data review and program updates per each clients’ individual needs
  • Contribute to the ongoing training of RBTs including completing fidelities, supervision notes, conducting team meetings and trainings, and professional development days
  • Project completion as agreed to and assigned
  • Participate in ongoing professional development, training, and CEUs as assigned
  • Staying up to date and in compliance with the BACB ethics and standards, as well as maintaining both BCBA / BCaBA and COBA certification
  • Demonstrates qualities of a good leader within the organization

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $56,000.00 – $81,000.00 per year
