Clinical Director

Kathryn Scarvelli, BCBA

Kathryn is a Board Certified Behavioral Analyst who chose to pursue a career in ABA after working with children with special needs in various settings during college. She has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from John Carroll University and a Master of Education in Special Education (K-12) with a focus on moderate to severe disabilities from Kent State University. Kathryn has worked on a research team at the Cleveland Clinic Center for Autism and has experience as a registered behavior therapist in homes, schools, and center-based environments. She has a Certificate in ABA from Kent State University. Kathryn is passionate about working with clients on communication goals and loves seeing parents get excited about their child’s progress. Kathryn enjoys working at Building Blocks Therapy because of the collaborative, positive, and supportive team environment, and how everyone celebrates each client’s successes and milestones.

Malorie Bush, BCBA

Malorie has always been passionate about the concept of learning through play. She chose to pursue a career in ABA because she loves the creativity, games, and laughter that come with it. Malorie’s special interest lies in working with early intervention kids. She holds an RBT and M.S. degree in her field. Malorie is passionate about working with families and teaching them how to support their loved ones with Autism. She enjoys working at Building Blocks Therapy because of the collaborative environment and the satisfaction she gets from seeing her clients’ progress.

Christina Carocci, BCBA

Christina chose to pursue a career in ABA after working at Building blocks Therapy throughout college. She received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from John Carroll University and a Masters in special education with an ABA certificate from Kent State University. Christina’s special area of interest is classroom management and working on activities of daily living skills. She loves seeing learners be genuinely happy in their learning environment and fostering a safe space for creativity and play. What she enjoys the most about working at building blocks is the collaborative and supportive work environment.

Sophie Kaplan

Sophie Kaplan is a dedicated professional in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) who began her career as a Behavior Therapist at Building Blocks Therapy (BBT) in 2024. She chose this path because of her passion for working with children and her desire to make a meaningful impact in their lives. Sophie has a particular interest in practical functional assessment and in understanding the overlapping functions and contingencies that maintain behavior.

I began my career in Applied Behavior Analysis as a behavioral therapist in 2024. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from Heidelberg University and am currently completing my Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis through the University of Cincinnati. I am passionate about helping children develop functional communication, independence, and other important life skills through play-based learning. I value the relationships I build with families and love celebrating their child’s progress and achievements with them. What I love most about working at Building Blocks Therapy is the collaborative and supportive team environment and the opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of our clients and families.

I started my career in Applied Behavior Analysis in May 2024, immediately after completing my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Ohio University. I am currently completing my Master of Education in Applied Behavior Analysis from the University of Cincinnati. Throughout my time working in the field, I have seen first hand the meaningful, life-changing impact that individualized treatment and support can have for clients and families. I am devoted to helping make changes for individuals that allow them better communicate, socialize, and increase independence across all areas of living. ABA allows me to do so from a research-based perspective, combining science with daily practice to change lives. My favorite thing about working at Building Blocks is seeing the small progress that clients make each day culminate into big gains.

Erin Bailosky-Arter, BCBA

While in college, Erin worked as a nanny for a child with ASD and was inspired to pursue a career working with children on the spectrum. Erin loves working on social skills development and executive functioning skills and enjoys training and teaching others. Erin has worked with kids of all ages, has a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Leadership, a Master of Education, and is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Erin is passionate about ABA and working with children and families affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder. She loves working at Building Blocks Therapy because it is child-centered, flexible, and offers custom-made treatment plans to each child.
